Huan
Bright white pocket square. Not often worn any more, just like white tie attire (how many people still know what it is?).

This and That

Posted by Colin + Emily on Saturday, May 8th, 2010

It’s been two weeks since we first launched. We’d like to thank the wonderful readers who have read, commented, liked, and procrastinated on this website. It’s so humbling to share this site with 800 visitors each day. We would like to use this first blog post to thank everyone and explain what BOOKS&LIQUOR is about.

We don’t claim to be experts on fashion or style, nor do we want to dictate what ‘good’ style is (we don’t think there’s such a thing as one good style anyway). What is featured catches our eye, and there’s nothing more to it. Some people will disagree with the choices, sometimes strongly, but BOOKS&LIQUOR is about personal style and not one universal style. This blog aims to channel what makes an individual interesting and unique.

And because of that, we have been disturbed by some of the very offensive comments. We don’t want BOOKS&LIQUOR to become a negative site with people constantly judging others. Style is a personal thing, and that’s what this blog aims to convey. If you disagree, please disagree in a respectful way.

BOOKS&LIQUOR started as a little idea; a spark in a conversation one fall day. Meeting people makes us happy, and discovering new, fascinating styles and quirks makes us smile – we hope it makes you too.
